HAVEN is relational database management system application. HAVEN should not be mistaken for a network application. HAVEN is still a stand-alone
application, but now contains features that make it possible to operate in a network environment, under
limited circumstances. Microsoft Access is not a full-featured Relational Database Management System
(RDBMS). Although steps were taken to address collisions in the software, collisions that cause application
errors may still occur. In addition, a high number of records in the storage database will degrade the
performance and reliability of the system.
The HAVEN storage database can now be located on a shared, network drive. This capability allows
multiple installations of the software to perform data entry against the same database. For more
information, see the section below titled “Installing HAVEN in a Network Environment.
